We had a donation of a fantastic round wicker chair which I absolutely loved. It gave me the idea to make the window look like a garden or porch scene. I chose to also use other wicker items in the window, I really love the leather weaved handbag as I haven’t seen a bag like that before.
I chose to make the whole window sepia as I thought that the items in the window where so interesting and unusual that they would still grab people’s attention, even though I am using such muted tones. This colour scheme worked really well for this shop as it sees as though the past was very beige.
To try to make the garden scheme come across even more I made roses to go in the window. I made around 50 using a mixture of white paper and old book pages in a variety of sizes.
I found that the window needed some details near the top so as to draw the eye over the whole window. I used some bunting made from pages of pride and prejudice which fitted in perfectly with the roses and completed the garden feel.
